Jan. 6 rioter claims he was ‘manipulated,’ requests early release

In a Monday filing, a rioter who took part in the Jan. 6, 2020, Capitol rally claimed he had been “manipulated” to participate in the riot. He requested an early release. Mitchell Todd Gardner II claimed that “powerfully influential individuals” and “outlets” such as Fox News “encouraged his actions” at the Capitol insurrection of 2021.
