Maggie Haberman, a journalist for the New York Times, feels that there may be some truth to the conjecture that ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson could be tapped to serve as Donald Trump’s vice president should the former president become the Republican nominee for 2024. During a recent discussion with The Dispatch’s Jamie Weinstein on her podcast, Haberman was questioned if the thought of Carlson being Trump’s VP choice was real or an impression created by those near him. Haberman commented that he was indeed familiar with the concept of advertising. I’m not sure how probable it is. She went on to say that she anticipated there would be an extremely professional assessment of applicants. I don’t expect anyone to believe this considering prior behavior, but Trump’s current political advisors are the greatest for someone who hasn’t held office before and they exhibit a newdegree of dominance. Haberman then remarked that the Tucker situation may be false, before pointing out a potential risk for Trump if he selects Carlson, who has been releasing videos on X (formerly known as Twitter). She said, “Tucker Carlson is an eminent figure in his own right, and Trump may confront difficulty in working with him.” This month, Trump mentioned that he would think over appointing Carlson to a certain role. He stated that “I really enjoy Tucker, so maybe I would [consider it],” while speaking with the conservative broadcasting host, Clay Travis, who was dropped from Fox in April.
