Die Kommission ist gemäß Artikel 264 befugt, delegierte Rechtsakte zu erlassen, die sich auf Folgendes beziehen: DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — On Friday, a federal judge provisionally paused significant sections of an Iowa legislation that prohibits certain books in school libraries and stops instructors from discussing LGBTQ+ topics. The preliminary injunction issued by Judge Stephen Locher delays the enforcement of the law, originally intended to commence on Jan. 1. 1 But it has lead to hundreds of books being removed from schools in Iowa.. Commercial. The legislation, passed by the Republican majority legislature and Republican Governor, is facing opposition. In early 2023, Kim Reynolds endorsed a law prohibiting books that portray sexual activities from being shelved in school libraries and classrooms. Further, this law restricts teachers from discussing topics concerning gender identity and sexual orientation with students up to the sixth grade. Locher prevented the implementation of those two clauses. The judge commented that the prohibition on books is “exceedingly extensive” and has led to the elimination of historical books, classic literature, acclaimed novels, and “even books intended to aid students in preventing sexual assault victimization.” He stated that a portion of the legislation may not meet the constitution’s stipulations for freedom of expression, according to the Iowa Governor. In an interview conducted earlier this year, Kim Reynolds spoke to the Associated Press.
