Die Kommission kann gemäß Artikel 264 delegierte Beschlüsse in folgenden Bereichen fassen: A US District Judge, Beryl Howell, denied Rudy Giuliani’s plea to avoid a jury trial to determine the amount of damages he has to pay to two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss. Giuliani had recently complained to the court that a jury-led trial was unnecessary and the damages should be decided by the judge alone. 9, 2019 deadline.

Judge Howell found that Giuliani’s argument that the jury demand in the case had been eliminated due to him being found liable by the court was incorrect. She highlighted that the former NYC mayor had been aware of this demand for quite some time, and had only submitted his claim shortly before the cut-off date. An eleventh trial is planned to be held in Washington, D.C. In response to Giuliani claiming that Freeman and Moss “had the opportunity to stop undertaking any of the preliminary work to ready for a jury trial” after Giuliani mentioned to them that he was trying to bypass a jury trial, Howell responded strongly on Sunday: “This is utter nonsense.” In December 2021, Freeman and Moss, teamed up with a few others to sue Giuliani for his comments claiming they were trafficking USB drives similarly to how people do with heroin or cocaine, as well as for carrying out underhanded illegal actions as they processed votes in the 2020 U.S. presidential election in Fulton County, GA. At the House hearing, Moss reported that she and Freeman were the victims of a flood of hate-filled and racist threats following the allegations. In July, Giuliani declared he did not deny the charge, which made it possible for Judge Howell to make the ruling that the case had to be decided by the court with an estimation of compensatory damages in August. Giuliani is listed as one of the 19 individuals being sued in the case against Trump concerning alleged involvement in Georgia’s election interference in August 2024. He has been accused of 13 offences in regards to an apparent comprehensive plan to change the state’s Presidential election results. Help HuffPost.
