Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has declared that he is going to present a bill that would bring the minimum wage up to $15, conflicting with the desires of President Joe Biden and Senate Democratic leadership. Bernie Sanders has declared that he will not support the supplemental spending bill that allocates emergency military aid to Israel and Ukraine. The Vermont senator has received criticism from the left recently for refraining from endorsing an everlasting stop to the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza and this has amplified his worries regarding the amount of Palestinian civilian casualties and those who have been forced out of their homes. Sanders often cited what he concluded were unlawful activities of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who leads the most conservative Israeli government in history. “What Netanyahu’s government is carrying out is wrong,” Sanders declared in his remarks on the Senate floor. It goes against international regulations ― and the United States should not be supportive of such practices. Sander elaborated that he backs supplying money for Israeli protective technologies ― presumably including the Iron Dome missile defense mechanism that Israel has utilized to thwart rockets shot off by Hamas, the Palestinian militant party governing Gaza. “I think it makes sense for us to back defense systems to protect Israeli citizens from rockets and missiles coming in,” he mentioned. I think it is irresponsible to give the Netanyahu government an extra amount of $10.1 billion for unrestricted military aid that allows them to carry on with their violent tactics.
