 According to recent research, some marine species can withstand coastal heat waves by “remembering” how they survived a previous one. Evidence that the natural memory response is probably connected to the bacterial communities that live among the corals has even been found by researchers at Oregon State University. The research was released today in the journal Global Change Biology.
