Trump asks Supreme Court to delay consideration of Jan. 6 immunity arguments

The legal team of former President Trump asked the Supreme Court not to decide whether he was immune from prosecution, after Special Counsel Jack Smith asked for the high court’s assessment. Trump is appealing Tanya Chutkan’s decision, which denied his motion to dismiss his election interference case.

 After specific counsel Jack Smith requested that the Supreme Court consider the matter, the former President Trump’s legal team requested a delay in deciding whether Trump is immune from prosecution.
