Boeing 737 Max 9 grounding will cost $150M, Alaska Airlines says

Alaska Airlines announced Thursday that the grounding its fleet of Boeing 737 Max 9 planes will cost the company approximately $150 million. The fleet has been ground since early this month, after a door-plug blew out in midair on an Alaska aircraft. The incident was not serious, but it prompted a mass inspection.

 Alaska Airlines estimated on Thursday that it will cost$ 150 million to ground its entire fleet of Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft. Since the beginning of this month, the fleet has been grounded as a result of an Alaskan aircraft’s midair door plug blowing up. The incident resulted in widespread inspections even though no one was hurt. Alaska Airlines announced on Thursday that it will cost the airline about$ 150 million to ground its fleet of Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft. Since the beginning of this month, the fleet has been grounded after a door plug blew out of one Alaskan aircraft in midair. No one was hurt in the incident, but it prompted extensive inspections.
