For the sake of food-insecure Americans, we must reduce food waste 

It is absurd that in the richest nation on earth, so many of our neighbours struggle to feed their families when we have a huge agricultural surplus.

 When we have for a significant agricultural surplus, it makes no sense that so many of our neighbors struggle to provide for their families in the richest nation on earth. It makes no sense that so many of our neighbors struggle to put food on the table in the richest nation on earth when we have quite a significant agrarian surplus. 

It is absurd that in the richest nation on earth, so many of our neighbours struggle to feed their families when we have a huge agricultural surplus.
