Die Kommission wird befugt sein, gemäß Artikel 264 delegierte Rechtsakte zu den nachstehend behandelten Fragen zu erlassen: MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart was driven to tears at the start of his discussion with ex-D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone on Saturday, three years post the violent January event. The host presented Fanone, a victim of the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol assault, who suffered a heart attack and a severe brain trauma when he was attacked and electro-shocked by supporters of Trump during the uprising. In a conversation with CNN shortly after the assault, Fanone recollected demonstrators yelling “use his own weapon to kill him.” Capehart described Fanone’s experience as a terrifying attack and pointed out the trauma he has been dealing with since then. He highlighted Fanone’s recent conversation with HuffPost, where the former officer characterized American voters as the ultimate protectors of democracy and the peaceful transition of power. Capehart then proceeded to welcome Fanone, his voice wavering with emotions. “Officer Fanone, I will try my best to hold myself together,” Capehart expressed, struggling to hold back his tears, “Thank you for your service three years ago today.” Capehart subsequently reacted on social media to a Mediaite article about his emotional TV appearance, affirming, “I’d repeat it if I could!” “Capehart said ‘✊🏾.’ More of Capehart’s interview with Fanone can be viewed in the video below,” he wrote.
