 In order to qualify their targets for a special visa for violent crime victims, two New York men were detained in December and charged with staging fraudulent armed robberies. The two men, Rambhai Patel, 36, and Balwinder Singh, 39, were each charged with one count of visa fraud for the scheme by the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts. Two New Yorkers were detained in December and charged with staging fictitious armed robberies to obtain exclusive visas for violent crime victims.
