A genetic test for identifying risk of opioid use disorder does not address the burden on the most marginalized and may cause more harm than good.

The burden among the most excluded people is not addressed by a genetic test to identify the risk of opiate use disorder, and this may result in more harm than good. The burden on the most disadvantaged people is not addressed by a genetic test to detect the risk of opioid use disorder, and this may have more negative effects than positive ones.
