The four leaders will include House Speaker Mike Johnson from Louisiana. Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, is the Senate Majority Leader. Y., Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic Minority Leader in the House. Y. and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, are featured in an advertisement. The president will talk about the importance of passing the aid package and legislation to fund the federal government through September in the upcoming meeting. The White House official, who spoke anonymously, mentioned that the aid package has support from both parties. The House, which is controlled by Republicans, is facing pressure to approve the $95 billion national security package that includes increased aid for Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific region. The bill passed the Senate with a vote of 70-29 this month, but Johnson has been hesitant to bring the aid bill up for a vote in the House. “In this situation, one individual has the power to change the course of history.” Jake Sullivan, the White House national security adviser, stated on ABC’s “This Week” that if Speaker Johnson were to bring this bill to the floor, it would result in a significant, bipartisan majority vote supporting aid to Ukraine.
