GOP Congresswoman Forgoes Retirement, Will Seek Reelection

[[{“value”:”Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN ) announced she would run for reelection in 2024 after going back on her earlier retirement decision.
In a statement released on Monday, Congresswoman Victoria Spartz stated that she would be running for reelection to represent Indiana’s 5th Congressional District.
” Choosing your responsibilities—family, work, or country —is never an easy task. I made the decision to take a break from running for public office earlier next year so that I could recharge and spend more time with my family in Indiana. With the recent failed leadership in Washington, D.C., on the crucial issues for our country that I have worked very hard on, Spartz said,” I do not believe I would be able to deliver this Congress, given where we are now and the pressure from some of my constituents.”
” I understand the importance of these difficult times for our Republic as someone who grew up under tyranny, and if my fellow Hoosiers and God decide, I will be honored to continue fighting for them.” She continued,” We must continue to sacrifice many Americans in order to protect our liberties and preserve the American dream for our offspring.

Spartz’s position in the” Solid Republican” category for 2024 is described in The Cook Political Report. By more than 20 points, the congresswoman won her most current term in 2022.
According to the Press Gallery, there are now 17 other House Republicans running for reelection, including a number who are vying for Senate or provincial seats.
On February 13 and March 19, respectively, two particular elections will be held to fill the vacancies left by expelled GOP representatives George Santos of New York and Kevin McCarthy of California.

Fox News added:
The nine Republicans who have registered to run for her seat have their campaign plans derailed by the announcement. The filing deadline for Indiana, which calls for applicants to turn in paperwork by Friday, is rarely being met by Spartz.
Democrats had not submitted a bid for the seat.
Three additional GOP-held Indiana seats will be up for election on Election Day despite the announcement. Greg Pence and Rep. Larry Bucshon both declared next month that they would not seek re-election.
Rep. Jim Banks moreover declared that he would not run for re-election as Indiana Sen. Mike Braun’s replacement.”}]] [[{“value”:”

Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-IN, reversed her decision to retire in favor of running for reelection.
Spartz, in a Monday statement, said that Congresswoman Victoria Spartz had announced her intention to run for reelection as Indiana’s 5th Congressional District.
“Determining your duty – whether it’s to family, work or country – is never easy. I decided earlier last year to take a break from running for office in order to recharge and spend time with my family in Indiana. Spartz said that, “looking at where we are now, and being urged by my constituents, it is clear that I will not be able deliver this Congress, under the current failed leadership of Washington, D.C., the important issues to our nation on which I have worked so hard,”
“As a child of tyranny myself, I know the importance of these challenging times. If my fellow Hoosiers decide to fight for them, it will be an honor for me.” We must continue the sacrifices of countless Americans to protect our liberties, and keep the American Dream alive for our children,” added she.
