Timothy Gabauer, the superintendent of Mount Pleasant School, made a statement about the referee’s untimely passing on Saturday morning.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the statement stated that “our school community is profoundly saddened by the death of Mr. Roebuck that occurred during halftime of the Junior Varsity basketball game.”

Roebuck was attempted to be revived for almost an hour by paramedics, but he passed away on the way to the hospital, according to Westmoreland County chapter assigner Bernie George. The cause of death is still unknown.

Mount Pleasant School Superintendent Timothy Gabauer released a statement on Saturday morning regarding the sudden death of the referee.

Mt. Pleasant athletic director Allan Bilinsky stated that when it was discovered the incident, fans were moved to the cafeteria from the gym and the teams to the locker rooms.
The second half was cancelled and the varsity match that was to follow it was postponed.
