Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified his nation’s actions in Gaza on Sunday as Israel readies to enter Rafah, a city housing a major refugee camp for Palestinians escaping the conflict in Gaza. During an interview on ABC’s “This Week” that aired on Sunday, co-host Jonathan Karl questioned Netanyahu about his reaction to President Biden’s criticism that Israel’s response in Gaza is excessive. Netanyahu rejected the remarks, stating that Israel’s reaction is justified considering the actions of Hamas in October. The 7 assault on Israel resulted in approximately 1,200 casualties. “I am thankful for President Biden’s backing of Israel from the onset of the conflict.” I’m not sure of his intention, but imagine yourself in Israel’s position. We came under attack. Netanyahu called the unprovoked attack on October 7th the deadliest assault on Jewish people since the Holocaust. He stated that Israel is actively pursuing the militant group responsible and issued warnings to Palestinians to evacuate as necessary, distributing thousands of fliers. We give Palestinians a call at their residences. We request that they depart.
