According to The New York Post:
According to Gant, the bill is being pushed to reduce Driving incidents in the state.
The politician said,” We see the proof in several accidents where alcohol is discovered in cars, beer cans, and beer bottles.”
You see the numerous beer bottles and beer cans that litter our highways, he continued,” and we see it on the side of the road in some of our roads across the state and every county.”
According to Tennessee Safety Resource Prosecutors, alcohol use was responsible for about 21.5 percent of deadly traffic accidents in 2019.
However, business owners are worried that the bill might hinder their operations.
According to Memphis Made Brewing co-owner Andy Ashby,” that would be very damaging to our brewery and the beer business in general.”
According to Ashby, his business depends heavily on convenience and grocery store sales, and the majority of customers favor warm beer.

originating in The Tennessean:
Due to the availability of cold beer, which can be consumed right away after leaving the store, Gant claimed that the improper consumption of beer while driving plays a major role in alcohol-related dangerous crashes.
Gant remarked,” You can see the beer cans if you look on the side of the road across our state.” That is your proof that people are driving while intoxicated. They purchase that beer and alcohol from the convenience stores.
According to Gant, bars and restaurants that offer customers an infinite number of adult beverages without a designated driver or alternative mode of transportation are another contributor.
According to him, this legislation would limit the number of drinks that can be served if you could not demonstrate that you have a designated driver.
Given that alcohol levels vary among various adult beverages, Gant said lawmakers will continue to work to determine what that cap would be.
Additionally, the bill would mandate that the Alcoholic Beverage Commission provide the General Assembly with a report on all Tennessee alcohol consumption statistics. Local law enforcement would be asked to look into the accident and determine where the driver got the alcohol if someone is involved in an alcohol-related fatality.”}]] [[{“value”:”

The New York Post reports on:
Gant, WREG’s reporter, said that the bill was a result of a push by Gant to reduce DUI incidents in the State.
The politician said: “We can see that alcohol is present in many accidents, including beer cans and beer bottles.”
“And you can see it on many of our roads in the state and county, the many beer bottles and beer cans that litter the highways,” he said.
According to the Tennessee Safety Resource Prosecutors, in 2019, alcohol was involved in about 21,5 % of fatal accidents.
Business owners are worried that the bill could have a negative impact on their business.
Andy Ashby, coowner of Memphis Made Brewing and WREG, said of the legislation: “That would be very harmful to our brewery and to the beer business in the general.”
Ashby said that convenience and grocery store sales were a major part of his business, and most shoppers prefer cold beer.

The Tennessean
Gant said that the illegal consumption by drivers of cold beer is a major contributor to alcohol-related fatal accidents. This is due to the fact that cold beer can be purchased and consumed immediately after leaving the store.
Gant said, “If you look at the side of the roads in our state, you will see the beer cans.” “That’s the evidence that people drink and drive.” They get their beer and alcohol from convenience stores.
Gant says that bars and restaurants who serve unlimited alcoholic drinks to patrons without a designated driving or alternative transportation are also contributing factors.
He said that if you are unable to prove that you have designated drivers, then the law would limit the number of drinks you can drink.
Gant said that lawmakers will continue to work on figuring out the cap, as alcohol levels vary across different alcoholic drinks.
The bill would also require that the Alcoholic Beverage Commission report to the General Assembly any statistics regarding alcohol in Tennessee. Local law enforcement will be instructed to investigate any alcohol-related fatalities and track down the source of the alcohol.
