In the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals desired for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to be silent and disappear. They were angry with the CDC for delivering unpleasant information. That is foolish. It’s similar to being upset with your oncologist for informing you of your cancer diagnosis. What are they expected to do, act as if everything is fine? I also do not have confidence in the CDC. I don’t want to hear the hard truths they’re always telling me, but not for that reason. I no longer trust that they are always being honest with me.
