According to CNN Business:
Some users discovered that their Facebook accounts had been logged out. Others received Instagram notifications that” something went wrong” and their feeds could n’t be loaded.
Similar to Elon Musk’s X, Threads, Meta’s competitor, also went over, showing users a popup that read,” Something went bad, please try suddenly later” in place of their feed.
Less than 80, 000 people were reporting issues with Facebook, according to Downdetector, about an hour and a half after the outage reports started ticking up. Additionally, Instagram and Messenger reported a sharp decline.
The actual number of damaged users is likely to be higher because DownDetector simply measures the number of users who report issues.
On Tuesday, Meta’s status page reported “major disruptions” affecting Facebook login as well as some other platform-related aspects.
