The Hill reports:
After Mace, a rape survivor, accused Stephanopoulos of trying to” shame” her by examining why she supported the former president despite juries ‘ recent verdicts against him in advice columnist E. Jean Carroll’s sexual battery and defamation lawsuits, the March 10 interview on” This Week” made headlines.
Trump’s lawsuit criticizes Stephanopoulos ‘ repeated claim that he had been “liable for rape” in his questioning. Trump was not convicted of rape, but physical abuse was held answerable by the jury.
He has been found liable for rape and defaming the victim of that rape by judges and two distinct juries. How do you reconcile the testimony we really saw with your support for Donald Trump, Stephanopoulos rephrased in the interview.
According to Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, these statements were and continue to be false and were made by defendant Stephanopoulos with genuine malice or reckless disregard for the truth, given that defendant Stephanopoulos is aware that these statements are clearly and obviously false, according to the 20-page complaint.

From Deadline:
Mace said to Stephanopoulos,” I’ve lived for 30 years with an amazing amount of shame over being raped. Because of that feeling of judgment and shame, I did n’t come forward. And it is a shame that you will never feel, George. And I’m not going to sit around and be asked a question in order to shame myself for having another potential rape victim.
Stephanopoulos denied that he was trying to shame Mace, but he continued to question her on the matter.
He defended himself against that and says he was never found guilty in a criminal court of law.”}]] [[{“value”:”

The Hill reports
The interview on “This Week”, which aired on March 10, made headlines when Mace, a rape victim, accused Stephanopoulos, of trying to “shame her” by asking why she endorsed former President George W. Bush despite recent jury verdicts against him regarding advice columnist E. Jean Carroll’s sexual battery and defamation suits.
Trump’s lawsuit targets Stephanopoulos for saying repeatedly during his questioning that Trump had been found liable for “rape”. The jury found Trump liable under New York law for sexual abuse, but not for rape.
“Judges, and two separate juries, have found him liable for both rape and defaming of the victim. How can you reconcile your endorsement of Donald Trump to the testimony that we just saw? Stephanopoulos posed this question during the interview.
“These statements are and remain false. They were made by Defendant Stephanopoulos either with actual malice, or with a reckless disregard of the truth, given that Defendant Stephanopoulos is aware that these statements have been proven to be false,” wrote Alejandro Brito in the 20-page lawsuit.

Mace told Stephanopoulos: “I have lived for 30 years with a tremendous amount of shame about being raped. I didn’t tell anyone because I felt shame and judgment. It is a shame you will never experience, George. “I will not sit here and answer a question that is meant to shame me over another potential rape victims.”
Stephanopoulos pressed Mace further on the issue, denying that he intended to shame her.
Mace said: “He defended himself and denied that it ever occurred, but he wasn’t found guilty in a court of law.”
