Die Kommission ist befugt, gemäß Artikel 264 delegierte Rechtsakte zu erlassen, die Folgendes betreffen: Muslim and Arab groups in Illinois are declining to meet with White House officials because they are unhappy with the lack of policy change on Gaza by the Biden administration. This showcases the president’s struggle to balance his unwavering support for Israel’s military actions with the demands from his constituents for an immediate cease-fire. White House officials had requested meetings with Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim American groups and leaders in Chicago before the upcoming primary election in Illinois. Numerous exasperated groups sent a letter to the White House on Thursday in retaliation. The groups stated in the letter that further meetings were unnecessary since the White House is already aware of the stance of Muslim and Palestinian Americans and their supporters. Those who signed the letter pointed to past interactions with the Biden administration, public statements, correspondence with officials, media appearances, and large protests near the Oval Office as evidence of their opposition to the U.S. government’s involvement in Israel’s ongoing Gaza offensive, which has continued for five months without a lasting truce. The letter accused the White House of not only failing to advocate for a ceasefire, but also of actively supporting the campaign of ethnic cleansing through financial and military assistance, as well as diplomatic backing at the UN. There is no sign of a meeting of the minds happening. Both the White House and Illinois Governor. JB Pritzker (D) quickly responded to inquiries from HuffPost.
