Jake Tapper used Donald Trump’s rally conduct to refute his campaign’s assertion that the former president has not made fun of President Joe Biden’s stutter. During an episode of “The Lead” on CNN, Tapper cited a Washington Post article discussing how Biden has embraced his stutter to portray himself as a compassionate candidate, while Trump has mocked the alleged stutter. Jason Miller, a senior adviser for the Trump campaign, stated to the Post that Trump has not made fun of Joe Biden’s speech impediment. Miller argues that the likely GOP presidential nominee has actually criticized Biden as an individual with impaired cognitive abilities and a low IQ. Tapper used a small fact check to debunk Miller’s significant assertion by showing a clip of Trump making fun of Biden’s stutter at an Iowa rally in January. “Why bother denying it when lying seems inconsequential?” “Tapper inquired about Alice Stewart, a conservative commentator and GOP strategist for CNN, deeming it foolish to dismiss Trump’s criticisms in the advertisement.” She warned that anything said in front of cameras can be used against you and used the example of Trump making fun of Biden’s stutter at a recent rally, which angered stuttering advocates like Maya Chupkov. Paul Begala, a Democratic commentator for CNN and former adviser to Clinton, pointed out that the ex-president had ridiculed a New York Times journalist with a disability and a deceased Senator in the past. Paul Begala criticized Donald Trump for his comments about John McCain’s injuries from his time in the military, stating that it is typical behavior for Trump.
