The challenge has been addressed by Anduril Industries, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Atomics, and others. Anduril is a newcomer to the field, founded in 2017 by inventor Palmer Luckey, an entrepreneur who founded Oculus VR, and General Atomics supplied the Reaper and Predator drones that the United States has used in several Middle Eastern campaigns.
Boeing is the single business to have unveiled its newcomer, the Ghost Bat. It can fly only below the speed of sound and travel more than 2, 000 nautical miles with a length of between 20 and 30 feet.
According to an overview on Boeing’s website, the plane is meant to” complement and extend airborne missions” with existing military aircraft.
Other features of the plane include “tactical first warning” and other intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, but the manufacturer claims that the plane’s low-cost design is its best feature.

The Ghost Bat is the single robotic drone that has ever flown in public, according to the outlet.

The proposed aircraft must be able to fly at least 30 feet ( 9.1 meters ) autonomously and at 600 kph (966 kph ) above the ground for consideration. By this summer, the Pentagon intends to work with two companies to produce the planes, which will be ready for the Pentagon’s goal of hundreds of them in five years.
