Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s 15- year- older, previously Seraphina Rose, made their first official appearance under a new name, Fin, at a memorial service for Jennifer’s father last weekend.
Before reading a biblical verse to the congregation at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, West Virginia on Saturday, Fin introduced themselves by their new name and donned a buzz-cut hairstyle.
Fin and their new short-cropped hair were first seen in public in February of this year, but the funeral was the first time the star actors ‘ children had a new name to introduce themselves in public.
The memorial service, streamed lived on Facebook, was for Jennifer Garner’s father William Jack Garner, who died a week earlier age 85.
Following William’s another grandchildren, Fin introduced themselves at the church lectern saying:’ Hello my name is Fin Affleck,’ therefore read Chapter 16, Verse 8 from the Book of Proverbs: ‘ Better is a little with righteousness, than a massive income with injustice.’
Fin’s mom Jennifer announced Billy’s death on Instagram in a heartbreaking post next Monday, saying he passed away’ happily’.
‘ We are glad for Dad’s soft demeanor and calm strength. For how he teased with a playful smile and how he created the role of the all-ever-patient girl dad. We are thankful for his work ethic, leadership and faith,’ she wrote.
Fin is Garner and Affleck’s end child, with an older sister Violet Anne, 18, and younger brother Samuel, 15.
Their parents split in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2018, but maintain a pleasant relationship.
Affleck married singer Jennifer Lopez in 2022, whose 16-year-old daughter Emme Maribel Muniz uses gender-neutral pronouns and has grown kinship with Fin as a step-sibling.
On February 12, Affleck and Fin were spotted together on a Los Angeles street, with Fin sporting an eye-catching momentary red hair dye.
When Fin was pictured hugging mom Jennifer goodbye at their school bus stop in Brentwood, LA, the first glimpses of their new name appeared a few days before. The name” Fin” can be seen embroidered on their backpack in the photo.
The teen has been pictured wearing more muscular clothing and has had a boyish haircut for years.

Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck and Seraphina rose, the 15-year-old girl who was formerly Seraphina, made their debut under Fin at a memorial for Jennifer’s dad last weekend.
Fin, a newcomer to the church, read a bible verse in a buzz-cut black pantsuit on Saturday.
Fin was pictured with short cropped hair in February of this year. However, the funeral marked the first public appearance by the child of the top actors.
The memorial service was streamed on Facebook for Jennifer Garner’s father William Jack Garner who had died a week before at the age of 85.
