Doctors and Netanyahu’s office said in a statement at around 1: 30 a. m. that the surgery had gone as planned and had been a success.
” He is sleepy, recovering and speaking with his family”, said Prof. Alon Pikarsky, the hospital’s director of public surgery, who worked on the prime minister.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the hernia was discovered during a regular checkup on Saturday evening. Although the hernia are most prevalent in the abdomen and hip areas, his office did not specify where in the body they had been discovered.
The prime minister was feeling well and was following his anticipated schedule, which included a meeting with the families of the captive female IDF soldiers, as well as a meeting of the cabinet, according to a PMO official on Sunday afternoon.
The prime minister underwent surgery to install a pacemaker after a” temporary heart block” next year.

Following the attacks of October 7 and the subsequent surgery, Israel’s leader was briefly withdrawn from the country’s civil war with Hamas in Gaza. Israel’s deputy prime minister and justice minister, Yariv Levin, stepped in for Netanyahu while he was incapacitated.
Netanyahu declared at a press conference on Sunday in Jerusalem that he was confident about the outcome of the procedure and that he would be able to return to work “very soon.”
I can assure you that I will properly pass this treatment and get back to work right away,” Netanyahu said.
According to a report in Ancient media, the operation took place as Israel and Hamas resumed discussions in Cairo.

In a press release issued at around 1:30 am, doctors and Netanyahu’s office stated that the surgery went as planned and was a success.
“He is awake and recovering, and speaking with his families,” said Prof. Alon Pikasky, the hospital director of general surgery who worked on Prime Minister.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office the hernia had been discovered during a routine examination on Saturday night. His office did not specify where the hernia was located, but they are usually found in the abdomen or hip area.
A PMO official said on Sunday afternoon that Prime Minister Netanyahu was feeling well, and was following his schedule. This included a meeting for the families of the female IDF soldiers who were held hostage in Gaza as well as a war cabinet meeting.
The prime minister was diagnosed with a ‘transient blockage of the heart’ in 2013. He underwent surgery and received a pacemaker.

Israel’s leader, who was temporarily incapacitated by the surgery, was unable to lead the nation in the war against Hamas that followed the attacks of October 7. Yariv Levin, Israel’s deputy premier and justice minister, took over for Netanyahu during his incapacitation.
In a press conference held Sunday in Jerusalem, Netanyahu expressed optimism about the outcome of the surgery and said that he would return to work “very soon.”
Netanyahu said, “I assure you I will be back in action very soon after this treatment.”
According to Egyptian media, the operation took place during renewed talks between Israel Hamas in Cairo.
Last week, the negotiations to secure the release the remaining Israeli hostages taken by the militant group as a trade for a ceasefire of the conflict which has killed more than 32,000 Gazans had reached stalemate.
