Republican Governor Kristi Noem Gets BANNED From Several Areas In Her Own State

[[{“value”:”Governor Kristi Noem has been barred from his land by four Native American tribes after Noem claimed some cultural leaders were making money off of Mexican drug cartels.
Noem’s comments in February caused the Standing Rock Tribal Council to decide to outlaw her from their land.
Noem’s comments angered Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Chair Janet Alkire, who claimed that Noem’s “wild and careless attempt to connect tribal leaders and parents with Mexican drug cartels is a sad reflection of her fear-based politics.
Noem was originally prohibited from entering the lands of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

The Hill had more on the story:
Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is the next tribal group to outlaw South Dakota governor. Kristi Noem ( R ) from its reservation land.
On Wednesday, the Standing Rock Tribal Council voted to ban Noem from its land for “racially charged” comments she made at town halls events alleging some cultural leaders are “personally benefiting” from Mexican drug cartel activity on reservations, the South Dakota Searchlight reported.
The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe extends between North Dakota and South Dakota. The governor was barred from two additional reservations earlier this year, a practice that began when she made remarks on the border of the United States and Mexico in February.
Noem’s attempts to link tribes with the Mexican cartel were “irresponsible” and a” terrible reflection of her fear-based politics that do nothing to bring people together to solve problems,” according to Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Chair Janet Alkire in a statement.
” Rather than make confused and unsubstantiated claims, Noem should work with tribal leaders to increase funding and resources for cultural law enforcement and education”, Alkire’s statement said, reported by the Searchlight.

Newsweek got the scoop, to:
Following Noem’s accusations that Mexican drug cartels are facilitating crime on Aboriginal land in her state, a third Native American tribe has prohibited South Dakota governor Kristi Noem from visiting its reservation.
On Wednesday, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe announced in a news release that its council had voted to outlaw Noem. The tribe’s chairwoman, Janet Alkire, criticized Noem’s comments in a statement posted on social media a few weeks ago, claiming that the governor’s “wild and careless attempt to connect cultural leaders and parents with Mexican drug cartels is a sad reflection of her fear-based politics.
Noem, a close ally of then-president Donald Trump, was banned from two different aboriginal reservations earlier this year after claiming in a speech to the South Dakota Legislature in January that some drug cartels had been successful in recruiting tribal members to join their criminal activity.
She reaffirmed her assertions at a town hall in March, accusing some Native American leaders of “personally benefiting” Mexican cartels operating in their territory and saying children living on these reservations “do n’t have parents who show up and help them.”
Noem was expelled from South Dakota on April 2 by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Council and the Oglala Sioux Tribe in February. North Dakota and South Dakota are both within the Standing Rock reservation.
