Venezuela closes embassy in Ecuador following Mexican Embassy raid

Venezuela has ordered the closure of its embassy in Ecuador following a raid at the Mexican Embassy in Quito. “I ordered that our Embassy in Ecuador be closed, as well the Consulates in Quito & Guayaquil. And for diplomatic staff to return to Venezuela immediately,” Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro stated Tuesday in a blog post.

 Following a raid on the Mexican Embassy in Quito, Venezuela has ordered its official in Ecuador to be closed. President Nicolás Maduro ordered on Tuesday to close our Embassy in Ecuador, the Consulates in Quito and Guayaquil, and for political personnel to promptly travel to Venezuela, according to a statement posted on the social media site. Following the raid at the Mexican Embassy in Quito, Venezuela has ordered the closure of its military there. President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela on Tuesday issued an order to close our Embassy in Ecuador, the Consulates in Quito and Guayaquil, and for political personnel to quickly travel to Venezuela.
