24 Republican Governors Pen Letter To Joe Biden Opposing WHO Pandemic Treaty

The letter was signed by the governors of the following states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.

The governor of South Carolina, along with other Democratic governors, wrote to President Biden to protest any proposals that would grant the World Health Organization unlawful and unenforceable authority over the country and its citizens. Henry McMaster said.

” The objective of these instruments is to empower the WHO, especially its excessive Director- General, with the authority to restrict the rights of U. S. citizens, including freedoms such as speech, privacy, travel, choice of health care, and informed consent, thus violating our Constitution’s core principles”, the letter read.
” Under the proposed amendments and treaty, the WHO’s Director- General would supposedly gain unilateral power to declare a ‘ public health emergency of international concern ‘ ( PHEIC ) in member nations, extending beyond pandemics to include a range of perceived emergencies”, it continued.

More concerns arise regarding the establishment of a global surveillance infrastructure and requirements for member states to censor speech that might lead to the proliferation of biological weapons, according to the letter.
We make it clear that public health policy is a matter for the states, not the federal government, and never for international organizations like the WHO. We are “resisting any attempts to grant the WHO authority over public policy affecting our citizens or any efforts by the WHO to assert for authority over them,” it said.

Attorneys public, including Ashley Moody from Florida, wrote a letter to Biden earlier in May opposing giving the WHO for authority.
Both of Florida’s GOP senators, Rick Scott and Marco Rubio, also called on the Biden administration to no cede sovereign power to the WHO at the beginning of May, with 47 another senators.

It read: “These proposed changes may drastically change the role governors as they respond to their responsibility as state health officials.”
The document stated that “These proposed agreements aim to significantly change the existing WHO International Health Regulations and introduce a new “Pandemic Agreement” (Treaty), which would undermine national sovereignty and violate the rights of states, as well as jeopardize constitutionally protected freedoms.”
The letter was signed by the governors of the following states:

The letter stated that “the objective of these instruments was to empower the WHO and its uncontrollable director-general with the authority to limit the rights of U.S. Citizens, including freedoms like speech, privacy, travel choices, informed consent, and choice of medical care.”
The article continued: “Under the proposed treaty and amendments, the WHO Director-General would gain unilateral authority to declare a public health emergency of international concerns (PHEIC) within member nations. This would extend beyond pandemics, to include a variety of perceived emergencies.”

The letter stated that “additional concerns arise in relation to the establishment of global surveillance infrastructure, and the requirement for member states to censor speeches related to public health which could facilitate the proliferation of biological arms.”
“We affirm that the WHO and international bodies such as the WHO have no authority to make public health policy. This is a matter for the states.” We are committed to resisting attempts to transfer authority over public policy to the WHO or any efforts made by the WHO to assert this authority over our citizens,” the report concluded.

Florida’s Voice:
Ashley Moody, an attorney general from Florida, was among the attorneys general who wrote to Biden in May to oppose giving such authority to WHO.
At the beginning of May, both Florida’s GOP Senators, Rick Scott, and Marco Rubio, called on the Biden Administration to not cede sovereignty to the WHO, along with 47 other senators.
DeSantis has gained national prominence because of his opposition to health mandates such as extended business lockdowns or vaccine or mask mandates.
