Did One Social Media Post Ruin Republican Senate Candidate’s Career?

[[{“value”:”Past governor of Maryland and Republican senator Larry Hogan may have had one X post to put an end to his political ambitions.
Hogan urged all Americans to “respect the verdict and the legitimate process.”
I urge all Americans to respect the verdict and the legitimate process, regardless of the outcome. At this extremely divided moment in our history, all leaders —regardless of party—must not pour fuel on the fire with more dangerous partisanship. We must reaffirm what has made this nation fantastic: the rule of law”, Hogan said.

I do n’t “respect the verdict”.
The only correct British response is total disrespect and contempt for the NY legal system, the court, and the judge who made this possible.

Your Senate race will go against you.

Would Democrats have any regard for a verdict like this? The answer is NO. As a foolish coward, quit and retaliate.

Not a single Republican candidate should support Larry Hogan. Let his political career end. He’s never our friend.

” On February 9, 2024, Hogan filed and launched a campaign for U. S. Senate in Maryland, seeking to succeed retiring former Democrat U. S. Senator Ben Cardin. He won the Democratic primary election on May 14, 2024, and will face Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks in the general election”, Wikipedia states.
According to Axios, a major Trump advisor warned Hogan’s Senate campaign is over following his “respect the verdict” comment.

Per Axios:
Hogan and Trump had a rough relationship at first, but Hogan’s comments on Thursday suggest he might have calculated that facing Trump would benefit him in deep orange Maryland.
Hogan’s plea to uphold the rule of law seems to have irritated at least one senior Trump advisor.
” You just ended your campaign”, said Chris LaCivita, a senior Trump advisor, on X in response to Hogan’s comments.
Trump became the first previous U.S. president to have been found guilty of a felon after being found guilty on all 34 felony counts on Thursday in his New York legal trial.
Hogan was one of the party’s loudest critics of Trump during his time as governor of Maryland. While he has mostly avoided talking about Trump during his Senate bid, the Trump conviction has brought the feud back to light.
Hogan said earlier this year that he would n’t vote for Trump.
” Look, I’m like 70 % of the rest of the people in America who do not want Joe Biden or Donald Trump to be president, and I’m hoping that they’re potentially is another alternative”, Hogan said.

Axios reported:
Hogan and Trump have a long, harsh history. He had supported former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s election as president.
After battling to deny Trump’s enormous lead, Haley dropped her bid on Wednesday.
Hogan, who was formerly No Labels ‘ chairman, claimed to have rejected the organization’s attempts to persuade him to run for president.
” I just did n’t want to be a spoiler and I did n’t know if you could really get to 270,” Hogan said.
Despite the bad blood between them, Axios reported last month that Trump does not intend to attack Hogan in his Senate bid.
