Fox News reports:
According to witness testimony from the NY v. Trump case on Monday, past president Trump did not physically instruct a Trump Organization executive to set up reimbursement payments for Michael Cohen.
” Michael Cohen was a lawyer”? At the start of the third week of the trial, defense attorney Emil Bove posed the question to previous Trump Organization boss Jeffrey McConney.
” Sure, yes”, McConney responded.
” And payments to lawyers by the Trump Organization are legal expenses, right”? asked Bove.
” Yes”, said McConney.
” President Trump did never ask you to do anything, which is right”? Bove asked.
” He did not”, McConney replied.
Trump is currently in Manhattan for the third week of a trial on behalf of business records falsifiers. Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, paid past sexual actor Stormy Daniels$ 130, 000 to allegedly dispel her claims of an alleged adulterous affair with the then-real estate tycoon in 2006. Trump has denied having a relationship with Daniels.
The Trump Organization, according to the prosecution, allegedly paid Cohen and unlawfully recorded the funds as legitimate expenses. Prosecutors are trying to establish whether Trump intentionally falsified records in an effort to commit or conceal a subsequent crime, which is a felony.
McConney, who served as the Trump Organization’s controller for more than two decades, took the stand Monday, where he was grilled by both prosecutors and the defense team.
Former Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg instructed McConney to pay back$ 35, 000 in monthly payments, the last of which was sent to Cohen in December 2017.
McConney went on to say that Cohen was immediately reimbursed by a trust before making payments from Trump’s personal account. The controller responded to Cohen and stated that checks would need to be sent to the White House in order for Trump to sign them, according to an email sent by McConney to Cohen.
Cohen was paid a total of$ 420, 000, according to the testimony, a sum that was “grossed up” so Cohen would n’t lose money through taxes.
McConney emphasized that the 45th president did not play an active role in the Cohen’s reimbursements, which helped the Trump team’s defense.
” And as far as I’m aware, President Trump has n’t requested that anyone do those things,” he said. Bove continued, as prosecutors objected.
Did he suggest that President Trump had instructed him to do these things in none of the conversations you had with Mr. Weisselberg? Bove pressed.
” Allen previously told me that”, McConney said.
Is it important for the courts to prevent Trump from running for office?
We are left scratching our heads as the judge keeps allowing testimony.
And let’s not forget that Cohen should be behind bars, doing a 70 year prison sentence.
But he’s got that get- out- of- jail card.
Watch. Cohen’s possible sentence for testifying against Trump was reduced to three years, giving him a 70 probable sentence.
See how it works?

Fox News:

According to testimony given Monday in the NY-Trump case, former President Trump did NOT personally direct a Trump Organization executive set up reimbursement payments for former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.
On Monday, at the beginning of the fourth trial week, defense attorney Emil Bove questioned former Trump Organization controller Jeffrey McConney about Michael Cohen’s legal background.
McConney replied, “Sure yes.”
Bove asked, “So payments to lawyers made by the Trump Organization are legal costs?”
McConney replied, “Yes.”
Bove asked: “President Trump didn’t ask you to do anything of the kind you just described… correct?”
“He did not,” McConney replied.
Trump is in Manhattan, where he is facing 34 counts of falsifying records of business. The NY v. Trump trial focuses on Trump’s former attorney Cohen paying former pornographic actress Stormy Daniels, $130,000, to allegedly silence her claims about an alleged extramarital relationship she had with then-real estate tycoon Trump in 2006. Trump has denied that he had an affair with Daniels.
The prosecution alleges that the Trump Organization reimbursed Cohen, and fraudulently recorded the payments as legal costs. Prosecutors want to prove that Trump falsified documents with the intent to conceal or commit a second crime.
McConney was interrogated by both the prosecution and defense Monday. McConney served as the Trump Organization’s controller for over two decades.
McConney testified in court that former Trump Organization Chief Finance Officer Allen Weisselberg had instructed him to reimburse Cohen $35,000 per month, the last payment being sent to Cohen on December 2017.
McConney revealed that Cohen had initially been reimbursed via a trust, before switching to Trump’s personal bank account. McConney’s email to Cohen, in which the controller confirmed that checks must be sent to Trump’s White House and signed by him, was entered as evidence.
Cohen was paid $420,000 according to the testimony. The amount was “grossed-up” so that Cohen would not lose money on taxes.
McConney’s testimony during the cross-examination strengthened the Trump team’s defense. McConney explained that the 45th President did not play an active role in the payments to Cohen.
Bove continued as prosecutors objected.
Bove pressed: “In none of your conversations with Mr. Weisselberg did he suggest President Trump had ordered him to do these actions?”
McConney said, “Allen has never told me this.”

You have to ask, is the goal of the courts to keep Trump from the campaign trail?
The judge continues to allow testimony that leaves us scratching our head.
Let’s not forget Cohen, who should be serving a 70-year prison sentence.
He has a card that lets him out of jail.

Watch. Michael Cohen’s 70-year sentence was reduced to three years for his testimony against Trump.
