A meat processor in Pennsylvania has recalled about 16, 234 pounds of fresh ground beef products that may have E. coli contamination.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the recall on Wednesday with Cargill Meat Solutions, a warning to consumers about six distinct ground beef products that ought to be thrown out.
According to the agency, the ground beef may have been contaminated with E. coli O157: H7, a “bacterial strain that is an essential food and a contaminated pathogen that causes diarrhea, ischemic colitis, and hemolytic- uremic syndrome ( HUS) in humans”, according to StatPearls, an online library published in the National Library of Medicine.
The fresh ground beef items were produced April 26- 27, 2024.

2.25- pound plastic- wrapped trays containing “85 % LEAN 15 % FAT ALL NATURAL ANGUS PREMIUM GROUND BEEF” with lot code 117 and establishment number “EST. 86P” printed on the back of the label.
2.25- pound plastic- wrapped trays containing “80 % LEAN 20 % FAT ALL NATURAL GROUND BEEF CHUCK” with lot code 118 and establishment number “EST. 86P” printed on the back of the label.

The US Department of Agriculture took this action due to concerns over E. coli contamination in ground beef sold Cargill Meat Solutions.
The ground beef that was recalled by Walmart has been temporarily removed.
Here are the states that may have sold the contaminated ground beef:

A meat processor in Pennsylvania has recalled 16,234 pounds (approximately 16 kilograms) of raw ground beef processed at its facility. The products may have been contaminated with E.coli.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued the recall on Wednesday in conjunction with Cargill Meat Solutions. This was to alert consumers of six types of ground beef that should be thrown away.
According to the agency’s report, the ground meat may have been contaminated by E. coli. O157:H7. This is a “bacterial pathogen that is an important waterborne pathogen and a food strain that causes diarrhea, hemorrhagic colitis and hemolytic-uremic Syndrome (HUS) among humans,” according StatPearls.com, an online library of the National Library of Medicine.
The raw ground beef products were produced between April 26 and 27, 2024.
