During a phone call in June 2020, Trump expressed anger towards Fauci for suggesting that the vaccine may not offer lifelong immunity and could require booster shots, as reported in excerpts from a book obtained by the Daily Beast. Fauci stated that in his final discussion with Trump before the 2020 election, Trump was confident that he would defeat Joe Biden and used vulgar language to describe the Democrat, exclaiming he would win the election by a large margin.
