Die Kommission ist befugt, gemäß Artikel 264 delegierte Rechtsakte zu erlassen, die Folgendes betreffen: Jake Tapper of CNN criticized Senator. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) reminded viewers on Sunday of a controversial moment from the 2020 election, when former President Donald Trump raised doubts about a peaceful transfer of power. The host noted that many Republicans found Trump’s actions concerning, before Cotton shared his own thoughts on the matter. Cotton mentioned that Trump has stated he will accept the outcome of a court-decided election if there is a clear winner, despite his unsuccessful challenges in the 2020 election. Cotton added that the assumption in the question implies that the president will be defeated. I believe the president will be successful in the election. Tapper remarked that the prediction did not turn out to be accurate. President Trump not only lost the election, but also did not follow the traditional process of accepting the results and peacefully transferring power. Cotton stated that Republicans will accept the results of the 2020 election in November as long as they are from “fair and free elections.” He is among many Republican lawmakers who have stated their requirements for acknowledging the outcome of the November election. He believes that any candidate has the right to challenge the results in court if they suspect fraud or misconduct in the election process. He supports President Trump’s right to raise concerns about the election and believes that this is a reasonable action for any candidate in the country.
