Tyson Foods announced that the two companies have agreed to build a massive facility that will be used to produce bug food, according to Frontline News.

Tyson Foods is the world’s following- largest processor and marketer of chicken, beef, and pork.
” Tyson Foods, Inc. ( NYSE: TSN), one of the world’s largest food companies, has reached an agreement for a two- fold investment with Protix, the leading global insect ingredients company”, Tyson Foods stated in a press release last week.
The company’s strategic investment will encourage the expansion of the insect ingredient market and increase the use of alternative solutions to produce more effective, responsible proteins and lipids for the world’s food system. To meet the current market demand and scale production of insect ingredients, the agreement combines Tyson Foods ‘ world scale, experience, and network with Protix’s technology and market leadership, it continued.
” Protix is a fully integrated insect ingredients company that produces and processes 14, 000 metric tons LLE annually in its Netherlands facility, which has been in operation since 2019,” said the company. As the demand for insect ingredients keeps rising, Tyson Foods claims that it serves significant global companies in the pet food, aquaculture, livestock feed, and organic fertilizer sectors.
