[[{“value”:”Joe Biden blamed broad travel for his subpar debate performance against Donald Trump last week.
Biden reportedly said at a fundraiser that it “was n’t very smart” to travel “around the world a couple times” before the debate.
” I almost fell asleep on stage”, Biden apparently added.
Even though he spent a whole week huddled up at Camp David before the debate,” Biden is now blaming his fatal debate performance on a flurry of global travel,” according to RNC Research.
Never yet CNN is buying Biden’s excuse.

From the New York Post:
President Biden claimed on Tuesday that his sluggishness was the result of his foreign travel, even though he had 13 days to recover from his most recent trip abroad, including a week-long stay at Camp David with afternoon naps, and that he was thus tuckered out that he almost “fell asleep” during his fatal debate performance last week.
The 81-year-old commander in chief offered the new justification as he faced growing calls from other Democrats to step off and allow a fresh presidential nominee in advance of the Nov. 5 election.
” I decided to travel around the world a couple of times … shortly before the debate”, Biden told Democratic donors in McLean, Va.” It was n’t very smart]to be ] traveling around the world a couple times”.
” I did n’t listen to my staff … and then I almost fell asleep on stage”, the president added.

Per NBC News:
Biden’s extent of joking about almost asleep was n’t immediately known. Cameras are n’t allowed into his fundraisers, and the media relies upon written pool reports. Biden has a track record of making unanticipated or ostensible remarks at fundraisers.
In apologizing for his lackluster performance, he also stressed that it was” critical” to defeat former President Donald Trump in November.
Biden visited France last month to observe the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and therefore he went back to the United States before heading to the Group of Seven Summit in Italy. He then attended a Los Angeles fundraiser and spent many days in Camp David, Maryland, preparing for the debate.

President Biden claimed on Tuesday that foreign travel had left him so tired that he “nearly fell asleep” during last week’s disastrous debate performance — despite the fact that he had 13 full days to recover from his latest trip abroad, which included a week at Camp David and afternoon naps.
The 81-year old commander in chief gave the new excuse when he faced mounting calls from his fellow Democrats to step down and allow a presidential nominee before the Nov. 5, election.
“I decided to go around the globe a few times… just before the debate,” Biden said in McLean.
“I didn’t pay attention to my staff… then I almost fell asleep in front of the audience,” added the president.

Per NBC News
It wasn’t immediately obvious to what extent Biden had jokingly joked about almost falling asleep. His fundraisers aren’t open to cameras, and the media relies on written pool reports. Biden is known for making candid or unexpected remarks at fundraisers.
In addition to apologizing for the lackluster performance of his campaign, he stressed that it was “critical’ to defeat Donald Trump, the former president in November.
Biden went to France last month to commemorate the D-Day 80th anniversary. He returned to the U.S. and left for the Group of Seven Summit, which was held in Italy. He held a fundraiser in Los Angeles and spent several days in Maryland, Camp David, preparing for the debate.
Biden continues his defense of his ability to take down Trump after a debate performance that was punctuated by a raspy vocal tone and rhetorical mistakes that left many Democrats nervous.
