Local Radio Host Says Biden Team Sent Pre-Planned Questions

Joe Biden, the president of the United States, tried to recover from his disastrous performance in the first debate and reassure American citizens that he is not too old or cognitively impaired for him to lead this country by sitting down with ABC’s George Stephenopolous at primetime on Friday. But it’s now his interviews with local hosts that are causing controversy.

Joe Biden, president of the United States, sat down for a midnight interview with ABC’s George Stephenopolous on Friday to shake off a disappointing first debate performance and calm American voters that he is not too old or mentally disabled to lead the country. However, his interviews with local radio hosts are then receiving scrutiny because of the apparently large amount of planning on the president’s behalf. Andrew Valid- Sanders, host of” The Source” on WURD in Philadelphia, said during an appearance on CNN that Biden’s team gave her a list of eight questions before an interview on Wednesday. ” I got some questions—eight of them”, she said. And I voted for the four people who were chosen. The questions Lawful- Sanders asked, according to CNN reporter Victor Blackwell, were “essentially the same” as those Earl Ingram asked during an interview on WMCS in Milwaukee, who also appeared on CNN, and did not appear to disagree with Lawful- Sanders ‘ description of receiving questions. On Wednesday, a radio host who spoke with President Biden claims that the White House sent her the questions prior to the interview. pic. twitter.com/9L6PRaUvgG— Victor Blackwell CNN ( @VictorBlackwell ) July 6, 2024It’s not unusual to go back and forth with an elected official’s team before an interview, but it’s certainly not a good look that Biden, a president who has spent the better part of five decades in public service, needed what amounts to a level of hand- holding for a local radio interviews. His team, of course, pushed back, saying that it was his campaign, no the White House, that sent the questions, and that the interview was n’t dependent on the questions that were chosen. ” Hosts are usually free to ask the questions they think will best inform their listeners”, Lauren Hitt, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign, told the New York Times. After a poor performance against Donald Trump in their first televised debate of 2024, Biden’s ability to effectively engage with the public in an unscripted format has become a key campaign issue. Yes, Biden has spoken boldly about having speech issues when he was younger and has long been known for his errors. But during the debate he seemed confused and, at times, incoherent. Trump’s claims that he is too aged and weak to lead the nation were supported by his bad performance. Biden and a slew of Democrats, including those in swing states, have all been called for to withdraw from the race by the New York Times editorial board. Angie Craig, a representative from Minnesota’s following congressional district, released a statement on Saturday morning that Biden” should step aside for the next generation of leadership”.As an elected leader, I feel a responsibility to be honest about what I believe, yet when it’s hard to hear.

President Biden is a great man &amp, I appreciate his lifetime of service.

But I think he should step down in favor of the future leader.

The stakes are very … pic. twitter.com/rtZLz6riDp— Angie Craig ( @AngieCraigMN) July 6, 2024Amid all the chatter, a group of unidentified political operatives sent out an 11- page memo that outlines the case for Biden’s vice president, Kamala Harris, to run in his place. Harris is” not the best option”, the authors write,” but she’s the only realistic option to win”. Joe Biden, president of the United States, sat down for a midnight interview with ABC’s George Stephenopolous on Friday to shake off his disastrous first debate performance and calm American voters that he is not too old or mentally disabled to lead the country. However, his interviews with regional radio hosts are now being investigated because of them.
