During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump has been trying to appeal to Catholic and another Holy voters. In July, the former president accused Harris and the Democratic Party of being” after Catholics”, adding that” somebody does n’t like Catholics in that administration”.
Trump nominated three of the six Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade, which had for almost 50 years stymied state laws preventing abortion. Following the Supreme Court’s decision, about two dozen states imposed restrictions on abortion.
Trump has since changed his position on abortion, stating that he opposes governmental restrictions and supports states adopting their own laws. In contrast, Harris has campaigned on codifying the abortion standards recently held in Roe v. Wade, which would override pro-life laws in more than 20 states.

It influences every decision I make, just like all Catholics who adhere to the church’s teachings. Never has there been a time when those values and the freedom to live them have been in greater danger. With such a great stakes, choosing a presidential candidate who has a track record in public office that is more in line with those teachings is the simplest decision in modern history.
