Asked about the upcoming U. S. election, Putin said it was finally” the choice of the American people” but that Russia backed Harris, the Democratic nominee.
His intervention comes less than 24 hours after the Departments of Justice, State, and Treasury announced sanctions and criminal charges in what the Biden administration claimed were Russian-sponsored plots to influence American public opinion back of the November election.

Putin had stated earlier this year that he preferred Trump to Trump because the former was a more predictable “old school” politician until withdrew from the race.
U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Trump is really more interested in winning because he has shown less interest in supporting Ukraine in the Russian-Russian conflict.
