The Democrats are really sweating bullets over the forensic audit in Maricopa County. They realize they have been caught and there is no logic to what happened there on election night and the period just shortly thereafter. No Democrats have won the county since Harry Truman and yet Joe Biden allegedly won the county by 40,000 vo0tes. Just before the election Biden and Harris went there for a campaign event but no one showed up.
They tried to head off the audit by ordering one of their own conducted by two companies who were only used when Dominion Voting needed cover. Naturally, they found nothing wrong. Now, real auditors are in town doing a real audit and the Democrats are crapping green. They have tried everything they know how but have been beaten at every turn. The Democrats know they can lose Arizona with no problems but that it could lead to other audits.
Three states could overturn the election. That would spell disaster for Pelosi and her radical agenda. The Democrats have tried to use the courts to stop the audit and now they have gone to the DOJ which would be a conflict of interest to use them to protect squirrely Joe Biden. Not even the 74 lawyers the dens sent there have been able to help.

The Brennan Center, Protect Democracy and The Leadership Conference have signed a letter to the civil rights division of the DOJ asking them to get involved.
The arguments within the letter [pdf here] are identical to the arguments made previously by other Lawfare groups, including Perkins Coie, to a state judge. The state judge rejected the arguments because there was no evidence submitted to the court to back them up.
Protect Democracy was the same entity that joined in a letter sent to the audit firms conducting the audit and threatening legal action against them. The letter was also signed by Perkins Coie, the same firm that represented Hillary Clinton and was involved in the origination of the Trump-Russia Collusion sham.
