The thing about liberals is that they always need someone to blame for their total incompetence. Because she refuses to allow the police to do their jobs, Chicago has a crime rate that is climbing faster than the price of gas under Joe Biden. And although Trump has been gone for nearly six months, liberals such as the woefully inept Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago blames him for her lack of ability.
Shootings in her city have been climbing ever since her first day as mayor. Last Thursday alone there were 31 people shot. The only thing that has kept shooting deaths from rising appears the inability of criminals to hit what they are shooting at. She now claims that Joe Biden is the best thing that has happened to Chicago, even though he has done absolutely nothing about crime except to arrest and permanently detain mostly peaceful demonstrators from January 6th.
But, President Trump offered to send help to Chicago to enforce the law and to aid the Chicago police. Lightfoot turned him down immediately. She was afraid they might arrest members of BLM or blacks who murder other blacks. The Chicago police solve a relatively small number of the many murders in the city.

Chicago Mayor Blames Trump for Crime ‘Surge’; Calls Newsmax ‘Incendiary’
After blaming former President Donald Trump for Chicago’s violence, and pleading for people to “acknowledge” a “surge of violence” in her city, Mayor Lori Lightfoot told Newsmax the data is trending down, calling a question about a crime surge “insulting” and the questioner a “failed political candidate.”
“It is incredibly gratifying to have a partner in the White House who understands the appropriate and unique role that the federal government has to play in public safety at the local level; for four years we were ignored, over and over again,” Lightfoot said about Chicago’s crime surge during her Friday evening briefing, which came after meeting with the Chicago City Council that was spurred by Newsmax questioning one week ago. “I started raising these issues from the moment I became mayor. We needed more help from our federal partners.”
In July of 2020 Lightfoot wrote to President Trump:
“What we do not need, and what will certainly make our community less safe is secret, federal agents deployed to Chicago. Any other form of militarized assistance within our borders that would not be within our control or the direct command of the Chicago Police Department would spell disaster,” Lightfoot wrote. “As any law enforcement official will tell you, what is needed more than anything in an operation to protect lives is a clear mission, a detailed operations plan, and a chain of command Secret, federal agents who do not know Chicago, are unfamiliar with the unique circumstances of our neighborhoods and who would operate outside the established infrastructure of local law enforcement would not be effective, regardless of the number, and worse will foment a massive wave of opposition.”
Lightfoot claims that shootings are down in 2021. Is that true? No.
Chicago ended 2020 with 769 slayings. So far this year, there have been 1,515 shooting incidents and 1,880 people shot in the city. Shootings incidents and victims over the first six months of 2020 totaled 1,377 and 1,656, respectively.
