Elder Patriot – Opinion – It appears that Joe Biden has been anointed the Chosen One to be the Democrats’ next presidential candidate.
With nearly two dozen radicalized contenders seeking the nomination, Biden is positioned to attract voters as the party’s moderate alternative.
The “shock polls” showing Biden with an eight-point lead over President Trump should be ignored just as we came to learn that the polls showing Hillary Clinton with a 99% certainty of being elected were more propaganda than fact.
But, even if those polls were real, and even if they showed Biden with a 25-point lead at this time, he knows he’s sitting on a number of nuclear bombs that are sure to blow up his electoral chances.
We’ll focus on just two of Biden’s campaign-destroying time bombs that the public is yet to learn about for the sake of brevity.
Let’s begin with the way then-Vice President Biden leveraged his influence with the Ukraine to first enrich his son, Hunter, and then to obstruct the investigation into his corrupt influence.
The overriding takeaway is his stupidity in bragging about it to a group of foreign policy experts. Yeah, real genius.
Biden openly admits that he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with pulling $1 Billion in loan guarantees if he didn’t fire Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.
“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’”
“Well, son of a bitch, he got fired.
Why did Biden want Shokin removed? Hold onto your hat.
The prosecutor was leading a wide-ranging corruption investigation into a natural gas firm, Burisma Holdings. Biden’s son, Hunter, sat on the board of directors of Burisma Holdings.
Investigative reporter John Solomon reveals the vice president’s motive:
The prosecutor he got fired was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden’s younger son, Hunter, as a board member.
U.S. banking records show Hunter Biden’s American-based firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, received regular transfers into one of its accounts — usually more than $166,000 a month — from Burisma from spring 2014 through fall 2015, during a period when Vice President Biden was the main U.S. official dealing with Ukraine and its tense relations with Russia.
Shokin told Solomon “in written answers to questions that, before he was fired as general prosecutor, he had made “specific plans” for the investigation that “included interrogations and other crime-investigation procedures into all members of the executive board, including Hunter Biden.”
This is only one example of how Joe Biden used the vice presidency to enrich Hunter.
How is this going to play when Trump, who has pledged to drain the swamp, starts pounding these facts on the campaign trail?
If Biden found some way to avoid self-immolation on this scandal of his own making, he’ll have to answer for his role in the illegal surveillance of Donald Trump and his campaign team.
Evidence of Biden’s knowledge of the illegal surveillance operation was contained within the curious email that Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote to herself minutes before Donald Trump was administered the Oath of Office:
On January 5, following a briefing by IC leadership on Russian hacking during the 2016 Presidential election, President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Jim Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in the Oval Office. Vice President Biden and I were also present.
That meeting reportedly included a discussion of the Steele dossier and the FBI’s investigation of its claims.1 Your email continued:
President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book“. The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.
From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.
[…]
The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.
Think about that. If America is desperate to move on from Donald Trump, something the Democrats are hoping will be the case in 2020, the last person they’re going to vote for is a person who was part of framing Trump in the first place.
