DINO PORRAZZO at AMERICAS FREEDOM FIGHTERS
ICYMI| Look, it’s not proper to speak ill of the dead so I will do my best to keep this classy.
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is dead.
The dem who had a long and controversial career in Congress that spanned four decades died Tuesday at the age of 82.
Reid was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018.
He retired in 2017. He announced in 2019 his cancer was in remission.
FOX News has more:
A Democrat representing Nevada, Reid served as senate majority leader from 2007-2015. He became most well-known for his use of the “nuclear option” in 2013, leading the charge to end the filibuster on executive branch nominees and judicial nominees other than to the Supreme Court.
Appearing with bruises on his face from a recent at-home exercising accident, Reid, 75, said the injury has allowed him and his family to have a “little down-time,” giving him time to think.
“We’ve got to be more concerned about the country, the Senate, the state of Nevada than us. And as a result of that, I’m not going to run for reelection,” the senator said in the video.
Whatever that means.
Anyways he’s gone.
He is survived by his wife, Landra Gould, and five children.
