Rich Welsh| The Democrat-controlled House on Friday night passed an “assault weapons” ban by a vote of 217 to 213 violating the Second Amendment rights of millions of Americans.
The legislation, known as HR 1808, was sponsored by Representative David Cicillene (D-RI).
The Congressman who has no idea what “shall not be infringed” means, took to social media to celebrate the Constitutional violation that he proposed.

The lawless Democrats intended to push the vote on their “assault weapons” ban on Wednesday, but when they realized they wouldn’t have the votes, they pulled the bill.
Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) warned Friday morning that Democrats were doing some back room dealing to buy enough votes. One only has to wonder what they were promised for their votes.
I am saddened to say that my Congressman, Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (RINO-PA) voted in favor of taking away my right to own a rifle that the clowns in the Democratic Party call “assault weapons.” I have an assault hammer in my toolbox. I bet Fitzpatrick drives an assault vehicle. Both of those things can kill an innocent person. It all depends on how they are being used. It’s no different with a firearm.
Fitzpatrick has a 30, or grade F for his Liberty Score. That means 70% of the time he votes against your liberty.
This bill will do nothing the Democrats said it will with respect to stopping mass shootings. You can’t go after the weapons and not the people who misuse them to harm innocent people. To put this in a religious context, Cain killed Abel with a rock. God blamed Cain, not the rock.
The bill is not expected to pass the US Senate, especially when it’s split down the middle at 50-50. But then again, who knows? We have RINOs in the Senate as well.
Cicilline argued that he knows better what the Second Amendment means than the Founding Fathers, specifically James Madison who wrote it and those who ratified it.
“These military style weapons were designed for the battlefield, with maximum efficiency for when a soldier is engaged in combat. The military features banned by this bill are added to make these guns more accurate, more controllable, more concealable, and more deadly,” Cicilline said from the floor of the House urging other traitors to the American people to vote for his bill.
Republicans who care about Americans being able to defend themselves argued on the floor of the House against the bill.
Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) said as plainly as possible why the Democrats are doing it.
“For years the Democrats told us, we’re not coming for your guns. Yes, they are. The Second Amendment is as clear as possible. That’s their beef. The Second Amendment says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed but they don’t care,” Jordan said in a floor speech.
Jordan added, “They don’t care about that fundamental liberty law-abiding citizens in this country enjoy. And they’re coming for your firearms.“
This will come back to haunt the Democrats. Second Amendment advocates vote and if Nancy Pelosi thinks this move is going to endear the party to the American electorate, she’s playing with fire.
