Opinion| This is personal now. I’ve never met U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz but from where I stand, an attack on any American serving our country is an attack on every one of us.
Rep. Gaetz was fulfilling his responsibility to his constituents by holding a town hall in his home district in Florida yesterday when he was surrounded by leftists.
One woman, Amanda L, Kondrat’yev doused Gaetz with a milkshake. That’s the new ‘non-violent’ method of attacking conservatives being employed by those on the left.
Here’s the kicker about Kondrat’yev, the “lady” actually was defeated by Gaetz when she ran against him in 2016.
This is a very real problem and should not be dismissed simply because no one gets seriously injured. No one was seriously injured in Nazi Germany when the Star of David was painted on the the doors to residences where Jews lived.
Consider the ten stages of genocide and decide for yourself where we currently sit.
The ten stages of genocide are: classification, symbolization, discrimination, dehumanization, organization, polarization, preparation, persecution, extermination, and denial.
Before you decide what stage you’d be comfortable with admitting we’re at, consider the level of hate expressed for Gaetz when a little compassion would be more appropriate:

Remain silent at your own peril. If they can do this to a high-profile congressman simply because they don’t like what he says – keep in mind Gaetz won re-election last year with the support of more than two-thirds of the vote – what chance do you have?
