sgenderism: Is it a Phase? // (John Hinderaker)
It wasn’t me who said it, but the British National Health Service did. The Telegraph reports
The NHS says that most children who believe they are transgender are simply going through a “phase”. It warns doctors that they should not encourage them change their names or pronouns.
NHS England announced plans to tighten controls on the treatment and care of under-18s who question their gender. This includes a ban on prescribing any puberty blockers except in strict clinical trials.
The NHS recommends against milder methods of contraception.
NHS England states that the interim Cass Report advised that even social change, such as changing a young person’s name, pronouns, or dress, is not neutral and could have “significant consequences” for “psychological functioning”.
The NHS has seen a 40-fold increase of “gender identity service” usage over the past decade. The NHS announces a new approach to treating young people. It notes that “most cases of gender incongruence do not persist into adolescence” but cautions that doctors should be aware that this might be a “transient phase”.
This move is intended to take a more holistic approach to children and look at the reasons they are questioning their gender. ***
Instead of being delivered by hormone specialists and therapists, the new clinical teams will be led by experts in paediatric medicine and autism, neurodisability, and mental health.Proposals note that neuro-developmental issues, family or social problems are common in children referred to treatment.

NHS England will also “strongly discourage young people from purchasing hormones from private practitioners” and will not accept responsibility for the treatment of those who have done this.
The U.S. continues to carve up children at an accelerated pace. This is reminiscent to the abortion issue. It seems that the more permissive European countries have more reasonable abortion laws that the more restrictive ones that have been enacted elsewhere in the United States.
