Study: MSNBC has used ‘Fascism or ‘Fascist” 1,614 times so far in 2022

Fox News media reporter Joseph Wulfsohn published a word-search cable news study Monday afternoon. MSNBC has a favorite F bomb that they can’t resist uttering regularly.

MSNBC has used the term “fascist” 1,614 times in the last year. This is despite criticisms that the network is “attempting divide” with polarizing rhetoric.

From the beginning of 2022 to Oct. 23, the term “fascism”, was used 627 times on MSNBC. According to Grabien Media’s search of transcripts, “fascist”, was mentioned a staggering 987 Times. This includes reruns.

MSNBC’s obsession with totals is so strong that it jumps off the page in comparison to CNN, which has used “fascist/fascism 491 times in the same period.

….Fox News used the phrase “fascist”, or “fascism”, 1,113 times. However, the vast majority of these mentions were during discussions about the left using this rhetoric.

Minutes before Wulfsohn’s article was posted on Monday morning, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace expressed shock at the New York Times report that detailed all the “devil language” used by Republicans. “You don’t have to have a degree in politics to see how toxic and unprecedented this moment in American politics is.” It’s there.

Jason Johnson, an MSNBC analyst, justified the fascist-smearing once more:

MSNBC hates “devil words”? No. @DrJasonJohnson:

“When it comes terms that are considered polarizing terms such as ‘fascism and ‘Nazi are considered polarizing terms but unfortunately those are not the correct terms to describe what is happening to Republicans.” pic.twitter.com/UsI737RTkf

On Monday, I laughed out loud at the graphic that MSNBC and the New York Times were showing. It showed that “election denier” was “fueling polarization.” The term “election denier” is polarizing. MSNBC is polarizing minute-by-minute. Wulfsohn discovered that the hype is naturally hotter when the voting is underway:

As the midterms approach MSNBC’s use has increased. “Fascist” and “fascism were mentioned 369 times in September, and 229 times during the first three weeks.

Joy Reid, MSNBC’s Joy Reid, blasted anyone who voted Republican last week as choosing “literal fascism.”

She tweeted, “It’s frightening how many Americans will choose literal fascism and female serfdom. Climate collapse and the reversal in everything from Social Security & Medicare, Student Loan Relief bc they believe giving Republicans the power of investigating Hunter Biden will bring down gasoline prices.”

Anand Giridharadas, a MSNBC political analyst, recently stated that he sees the 2022 election between pro-democracy and pro-fascism. On the network, he claimed that “it’s no about party ID at present… It is a dead heat zwischen democracy and fascism.”

MSNBC might look more like a news channel if they could refrain from using the term to describe actual neo Nazis rather than conservative Republicans.
