Networks finally discover that Pelosi Attacker was an illegal immigrant

Four days after Fox News broke this story, the big three night newscasts finally reported that David DePape was an illegal immigrant. The big three evening news stations dragged their feet covering the story until they couldn’t hide it from their viewers, just like most stories that aren’t convenient to liberal narratives.

ABC’s World News Tonight correspondent Mola Lenghi finally reported the news to viewers after breaking the news for four days. Multiple reports indicate that the man accused of the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul in their home was illegally in the U.S. for many years. He said that U.S. authorities have a record that David DePape, a Canadian citizen entered the country legally in 2008.

Lenghi said that it was unclear if there are any other records of DePape’s entry or exit to the U.S. via Canada or Mexico since then.

On CBS Evening News, Norah O’Donnell gave viewers a quick update: “Today federal officials said that the Canadian man accused in attacking Pelosi might be in this country illegally.” According to the Department of Homeland Security, the suspect, 42-year old David DePape, may have exceeded his March 2008 authorized entry.

NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt was the one who reported the story on NBC Nightly News. He treated it as breaking news, just like the other networks. Holt turned to Miguel Almaguer, a correspondent, for the delivery. “42-year old David DePape is a Canadian citizen, who entered the U.S. in 2008. Officials claim he was here illegally. He reported that he was illegally here

Now the question is, why did they sit on this story for so long? They clearly have many well-connected law enforcement sources. If Fox News could uncover this and verify its authenticity, then the three legacy broadcast channels would have the resources and sources to report that the Speaker’s husband was attacked and beaten by an illegal immigrant who had overstayed his visa.

TD Ameritrade on ABC and United Healthcare on CBS made this late reporting possible. Salonpas on NBC also helped. Their information is linked.

LESTER HOLT – Miguel, what have we learned?

MIGUEL ALMAGUER: Well, Lester, good evening. Paul Pelosi was attacked inside his home by a man wielding a hammer six days ago. You can see me behind you. We now know that Mr. Pelosi has returned home after sustaining serious injuries, including a skull break and an injured arm or hand. The 82-year old spent several days in the ICU.

The Pelosi family has released a statement stating that Paul is still under medical care and that he is progressing on his long recovery. Activity around the Pelosi residence was visible earlier today as our first sign that he had returned. Security at the home is visible tonight, almost a week after the attack. Lester reports that both the capitol police and the local police are present.

HOLT: Miguel, I believe you have more information about the suspect.

ALMAGUER: Yes, David DePape, a Canadian citizen, entered the U.S. in 2008. Officials claim he was here illegally. He was illegally here. Lester has pleaded not guilty. He is expected to appear in court at the conclusion of this week. Lester?
