David Schultz is a professor of political science at Hamline University, St. Paul. He blogs at Schultz’s Take. I first met Professor Schultz during a taping for the local public television program Face to Face in 2000. He was also my boss. Bill was the chairman and chief executive of TCF Financial Corporation, as well as the chairman of Minnesota Republican Party. Face To face was a local edition of CNN’s Crossfire, created and produced by Roger Conant.
Although I don’t recall the subject of the face-to-face show, it was likely to have been about politics and business. Professor Schultz jumped in the ring from the top turnbuckle swinging or with an attack against TCF that was both absurdly misplaced, and wildly out-of-base.
Professor Schultz appears in the current Liz Collin Reports edition to discuss the impending Minnesota midterm elections (video below). I correctly identified Professor Schultz as a man of left. His comments about the state of Minnesota’s play surprised me. Given his origins, I take his comments — reported here from Alpha News — as a tea-leaf of the election results.
