Dorsey Apologizes for Growing Twitter ‘Too Fast’ after Layoffs

Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s co-founder, laments that he grew Twitter too quickly amid Musk’s radical changes, including its censorship rules.

Musk bought the platform for $44Billion last month. He immediately made changes, including layoffs which severely impacted the content moderation staff at Twitter.

Dorsey apologised for growing the company “too quickly” but also encouraged “resilient” former employees.

Over the weekend, Dorsey tweeted “Folks on Twitter past and present” “They will always find a solution, no matter how difficult it may seem. He continued, “I realize that many are angry at me.” “I am responsible for this situation. I grew the company too quickly. I am sorry for that.”

Musk claimed that Musk would save $4 million per day by reducing costs through layoffs.

Musk tweeted, “Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force. Unfortunately there is no choice when it is losing over $4M/day.” “Everyone who exited was offered three months of severance which is 50% more than what is legally required.”

Dorsey supported Musk’s plan to make Twitter a pro-free speech platform.

NewsBusters reported that Dorsey had previously stated Musk’s plan to Twitter was the “singular answer” for the company.

He tweeted, “In principle I don’t believe any person should own or manage Twitter.” It wants to be a public service at a protocol level and not a company. Elon is the only person I trust to solve the problem of it being company. His mission to spread consciousness is something I believe in.

He also tweeted: “Elon’s goal to create a platform that’s’maximally trustworthy and broadly inclusive’ was the right one.”
