Don Bacon won re-election for the U.S. House seat at Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional district. He defeated State Senator Tony Vargas. Bacon was elected to Congress for the first time in 2016, defeating Brad Ashford by just over 1 point. According to Vargas’ campaign website, Vargas was a teacher in public schools and received the “Most Outstanding Teacher” and “Teacher Of The Year” awards.
